DUTIES:
Reporting to the Manager, Policy & Staff Development or designate, this position will be responsible for the development and maintenance of an ongoing staff training program for Employment and Social Services staff along with external community partners as well as the supervision of a team of staff involved in the delivery of training and policy development; to meet the overall goals and objectives of the Employment and Social Services department. Responsible for ensuring the prompt dissemination of staff development information pertaining to approved changes in related regulations, policy and procedures. Will obtain and provide resource material to assist in the development of staff. The successful candidate will liaise where necessary with the Human Resources Department as to training programs, hiring practices and procedures of the Corporation. This will involve, but not limited to, the completion of periodic training needs assessments and the establishment of a performance management process that defines staff performance objectives. The development of policies and procedures for the effective implementation of Employment and Social Services programming. The incumbent will serve as the trainer and conduct training sessions as required. Will perform other related duties as assigned. Will perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation’s Health and Safety Program. Will perform other related duties as required.
