Job Summary

The financial accountant possesses strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a flair for numbers, is highly organized, and has excellent leadership skills. The noteworthy financial accountant should streamline accounting functions and operations, provide financial analysis and reports, proactively highlight financial issues, promote regulatory compliance, and drive income generation.

Principal Responsibilities

• Executing and auditing reconciliation

• Preparing Tax reporting and sales tax reporting

• Processing and auditing Monthly Invoicing

• Analyzing financial data and provide reporting

• Monitoring internal controls

• Maintain accuracy of invoicing platforms as needed

• Creating and managing monthly/quarterly/yearly reports

• Auditing key financial transactions

• Streamlining accounting functions and operations by helping build compliant processes

• Coordinating audit processes with external parties when needed

*Additional duties upon request or business need as directed by Management team

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance OR a combined bachelor degree in a related discipline and an accounting certification/minor

• 1-2 years experience in an established company with advanced accounting practices and tools

• Solid knowledge of GAAP accounting principles

• Fair knowledge of international accounting

• Exposure to and familiarity with Quickbooks (or equivalent) and other accounting software

• In-depth experience of business bookkeeping procedures

• Extensive experience using Google sheets or equivalent

• Experience using Google slides or equivalent

• Experience in Monitoring and report on accounting discrepancies

Skills

• Highly motivated with a solution-oriented attitude

• Ability to manage expectations, both internally and externally

• Strong attention to detail, solid organizational and time management skills

• Willingness to learn and go above and beyond

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Proficiency in accounting software

Location

Applicants must be located in the Greater Montreal area. This position is remote.
