Are you a driven, safety-focused emerging leader seeking to grow your career with a dynamic team? Are you willing to learn the business from the ground up and develop as a future leader in the organization? Flint is seeking someone like you!
Flint is recruiting for a Management Trainee, based out of our Flint Office in Burnaby, BC. Flint’s Management Trainee Program offers participants an opportunity to learn our business starting from the ground up. With skilled supervision, a variety of field-based operational training, exposure to a variety of functional areas and mentoring to ensure success, the program will fast-track your career into an operational management role.
You will work directly in the shop and field operations to understand the Project Cycle from start to finish. Your field experience is then combined with leadership training and increased levels of responsibility in project planning, coordination, and other functional areas.
Flint specializes in Maintenance Turnaround, Project Work, Construction, Welding Fabrication and Facility Pipeline Construction.
What would you be doing?
This is an entry-level leadership development program designed to prepare suitable candidates for supervisory and future management positions with Flint.
For the first few months, this program will involve “hands-on” in the field, which is physically demanding and labor intensive. You will be exposed to Fabrication, Maintenance, Construction and Turnarounds. This is intended to provide direct experience and allow for an expedited learning curve on the fundamentals of the business.
Thereafter, the successful candidate will be exposed to functional and project management responsibilities.
While the majority of the program may take place in a construction environment, there is an expectation that the candidate be prepared to travel to different sites. It will/may require working extended hours on projects located away from a home base (Camp or LOA environment).
The program is typically two to three years in duration dependent on the Trainee’s previous experience and accomplishments during the program. Candidates completing the Management Trainee Program will have the opportunity to pursue a career in a variety of roles in either Project Services roles or Functional positions.
In order to offer the broadest range of experience, you must also be prepared to be transferred to multiple Flint divisions throughout their tenure.
Does this sound like you?
Are willing to embark on a fast-paced development adventure, with access to opportunities that will present themselves through your own commitment.
Are motivated, a self-starter, and have excellent communication and organization skills combined with a excellent work ethic.
Are committed to learning and understanding the tasks at each phase of the training program that will include proper work procedures, job planning, safety, cost awareness and developing team and customer relations.
Are you willing to travel and/or relocate?
Have a Journeyman Trade Certification, related post-secondary degree / diploma or Welding Engineer Technology (CET) Diploma.
