Coast Mountain College Looking for College Librarian (Prince Rupert) at Prince Rupert, BC Full Time

Coast Mountain College, Prince Rupert Campus, invites applications for a full-time continuing College Librarian. This appointment will commence February 6, 2023. Salary will be in accordance with the CUPE Instructor Salary Scale.

Duties: The Librarian will be responsible for the delivery of digital and information literacy to students in all programs on the campus as well as the supervision of staff, collection development, and reference services.

Tasks will include but are not limited to:

• Plan and implement a digital and informational program that supports students, courses, and programs
• Lead the campus library in Prince Rupert including supervision of staff, collection development, and budgeting
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure programs, courses, and students have the required library support services
• Assess student learning needs and create plans to support them
• Provide reference, information literacy, and digital literacy services to staff and students
• Participate in library projects, planning, and development
• Represent CMTN Library at professional meetings and conferences as required

A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent education from an ALA accredited institution.

Required skills, abilities, and knowledge includes:

• Thorough knowledge of current trends in the area of library services and technologies, copyright, and accessibility
• Demonstrated ability to design and produce engaging teaching and learning materials
• Knowledge and enthusiasm for the best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusion
• Ability to function effectively across cultures, particularly with the Indigenous communities, is an asset
• Intuitive and service oriented with exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Persuasive and engaging communication skills with an ability to clearly express ideas and deliver captivating and dynamic presentations
• Demonstrated ability to support others in achieving their goals
