Overview Of Position
Reporting to the Controller, the Payroll Administrator will work closely with the Payroll and Benefits team to help support the success of the department and provide excellent customer service to their internal customers.
Key Responsibilities
Process and manage payroll for employees accurately and on time using QuickBooks.
Ensure compliance with Provincial payroll regulations.
Maintain employee records and update changes in payroll system.
Calculate and process various payments including bonuses, vacation calculations, per diems, Kilometer payments, and overtime payments.
Calculate and enter deductions including benefit premiums.
Prepare and process garnishments.
Prepare and process direct deposits to employees.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
Collaborate with HR department to ensure accurate employee data.
Generate payroll reports for management review.
Assist with year-end payroll activities, including T4 processing.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using QuickBooks Time and QuickBooks Workforce.
Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role.
Strong knowledge of payroll processes and regulations.
Proficient in using MS Office applications especially Excel.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Conditions
Computer and phone use, sitting, manual dexterity, noise associated with working in an office.
