We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Athletic Coordinator to join us in the delivery of our Total Care Education System®

Job Summary

The Student Leadership Development Department is responsible for providing extracurricular and weekend programming for the students enrolled at Columbia International College. The Athletic Coordinator works with Student Leadership Development staff members to provide athletic programing and provides administrative and planning support to the initiatives of Student Development.

Responsibilities (include But Are Not Limited To)

Organizing and facilitating the Intramural program, which includes: providing a diverse range of sports, tournament organization, stat keeping, refereeing, spectator management, media promotion, etc.

Coordinating the Athletic Council (student leadership team) in order to provide leadership development through the facilitation of athletic events (Intramurals, fundraising events, and healthy living campaigns).

Organizing all aspects of the Varsity Athletic program, which includes: coaching, facilitating games with CISAA (Conference of Independent Schools of Ontario), managing referees, selection process, scheduling practices, logistics (food and transportation), etc.

Developing community and school partnerships to facilitate local varsity competitions.

Monitoring responsible student use of the Ainsliewood Gym facilities and equipment.

Maintaining current equipment inventory and assessing equipment needs.

Liaising with other departments regarding the booking of the Ainsliewood Gym facilities.

Providing Frontline Customer Service for Student Leadership Development in the Ainsliewood Gym.

Assisting the Student Leadership Development team in the delivery of various school wide events, Summer Camps and weekend trips.

Specific Job Skills

Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).

Experience in an administrative role.

Must be organized and have exceptional time management skills.

Experience with logistics and organizing of transportation.

People management skills.

Must be a self-starter, decisive, assertive, and great team player.

Ability to maintain a calm manner and patience when providing exceptional customer service to staff and students.

Strong problem solving skills and mediation skills.

Ability to be an effective member of interdepartmental team in a dynamic office.

Qualifications

A background in facilitating a wide range of athletics

Post-secondary education.

Experience with Microsoft suite of programs, including Excel (Intermediate experience required including database development, mail merges, etc.)

Experience with basic design software (Canva, Prezi, or Publisher)

Hours of Work

Availability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
