Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a strong technical sales person to help us grow the America’s Region of ComAp. This position will be remote and can work from anywhere within Canada, but will be required to travel as need.
What you will be doing:
Your main aim will be to maintain existing business activities, gain new business opportunities and increase market share in Canada, focusing on the Power Generation and Renewables Energy Sectors. You will be working closely with our customers building long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs. You will keep in touch with our colleagues from other subsidiaries around the world.
The Area Sales Representative is responsible for carrying out the company’s development sales strategy to achieve maximum profitability and growth by finding new and developing existing customers, maximizing sales opportunities within these accounts, and ensuring customer satisfaction via high standards of service delivery. The Area Sales Representative needs to use technical and commercial skills to drive the ongoing development of their respective accounts within a defined territory.
Your daily work will include the following:
- Identify opportunities where ComAp products and services may help address customer needs and / or create a sustainable competitive advantage.
- Develop strong customer / partner relationships to help drive commercialization of current and new ComAp products to new and existing customers.
- Vividly and successfully present High Value Technical Solutions to diverse audiences such as Owners / Principles, Purchasing, Engineering, & Technical Services.
- Contribute to the long-term development of the company by working closely with ComAp’s engineering and R&D teams communicating changing market conditions and new technology requests from customers.
- Management of customers cycle process, including leads, opportunities, quotes and follow up
- Maintain customer data in CRM. Monitor and report sales progress and activities as required.
- Provide quotes and negotiate contracts as needed.
- Liaise between the customer and the company while maintaining company objectives.
- Develop and execute a disciplined sales process including developing sales plans, funnel management, identifying and tracking KPI’s, and cadence.
- Discover, attend and promote trade shows and marketing activities.
- Be a valuable team player. Share valuable customer and opportunity information as it is discovered with local and international sales teams.
- Conduct market research to understand competitors and market trends.
What we are looking for in our next Area Sales Manager:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in technical sales in a similar industry
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in B2B sales
- Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience
- Experience in the electrical power generation, parallel operation of AC sources, switchgear, and / or electrical controls markets.
- Ability to comprehend 1-line and 3-line electrical schematics related to this industry.
- Confidence in building strong relationships with our costumers
- Strategic thinking, proactivity and ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts
- Be prepared to travel visiting our customers domestically and travel overseas to our HQ or other subsidiaries

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
Experience:
- Technical sales: 1 year (preferred)
- Power Generation Industry: 1 year (preferred)
- Hybrid Energy: 1 year (preferred)
