Community Living Wallaceburg (CL Wallaceburg) is seeking a Director of Human Resources and Innovation to join its leadership team to lead its full suite of Human Resources functions.
Operating since 1956, CL Wallaceburg has earned the reputation as an innovative and progressive service provider and partner throughout the communities of Chatham-Kent and Lambton County. While its roots are in Wallaceburg, it provides a wide range of individual and family focused supports throughout the region and annually serves over 500 people and families.
It is primarily funded by the Ontario government, through the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services and is a member of Community Living Ontario, Ontario Agencies Supporting Individuals with Special Needs, and the Ontario Association on Developmental Disabilities.

The new Director of Human Resources and Innovation will be an accomplished leader and general manager, with a strong appreciation for the nature of the sector and the important role of CL Wallaceburg in the community.
The Director holds a substantive role, responsible for providing strategic direction and policy advice to the organization on Human Resource (HR) and operational matters, ensuring both the current and future human capital needs of the Association can be met.
The Director acts as a catalyst for change, leading organizational design, leadership development and employee engagement initiatives as necessary to deliver necessary evolution of the business.
Visionary and strategic, s/he has broad experience in all aspects of the Human Resources continuum including human resource planning, recruitment to termination cycle, collective bargaining, employee and labour relations, performance management, training and development, job classification, scheduling, occupational health and safety and disability management, payroll, and benefit administration.
A transformational leader and innovative thinker, the Director will bring respect for the history and traditions of CL Wallaceburg while concurrently working collaboratively with the senior management team, supervisory team, and HR team to ensure the efficient and effective operation of all aspects of human resources.
Challenging the status quo, re-thinking business practices and models of service delivery, innovating, and pursuing opportunities for enhanced partnerships externally, are demonstrated competencies the new Director will possess.

Possessing superior communication skills, s/he is defined by integrity, empathy, authenticity, and fairness; is adept at constructive challenge and is a leader by example.
This role requires ten years progressive Human Resources experience, at least five years at a management level including experience working in a unionized environment and administering a collective agreement.
CHRP/CHRL designation is preferred, JHSC Certification, and human resources management education gained through community college or university degree with a specialization in HR.
