Job Summary:
In this role, you will help with the supply chain process, including the procurement of raw materials, packaging, warehouse supplies and the transport of finished goods to our customers. Analyzes demand, plant capacity while working closely with the Supply Chain team to plan and issue schedules for production and labelling lines. Responsible for maintaining and processing documentation as it relates to the Supply Chain Dept. Ensure processes and documentation are compliant with company policies and procedures. Collect and analyze Supply Chain documentation while recommending improvements to boost performance and reduce cost.
Position Responsibilities
Work with supply chain team to ensure customer needs are fulfilled.
Lead procurement and inventory control.
Work with supply chain team to optimize inventory performance.
Analyze demand, optimize plant capacity via sequential scheduling.
Assist with Supply Chain data entry, graphing and charting of related metrics.
Plans and prepares production / packaging schedules to meet demand and maintain weekly case fill rate targets.
Assist with Supply Chain process optimization, documentation as related to CPS.
Assist with creating and implementing continuous improvement plans for material handling, inventory processes, shipping, receiving and efficient scheduling.
Assist Supply Chain team to analyze usage, and losses through the supply chain.
Other responsibilities as required to support Supply Chain or Operations team.
Act as member of plant supervisory team, particularly in the harvest season.
Position Qualifications
Post-secondary education or equivalent education in business management, process management, supply chain and logistics
3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing, warehousing, receiving, inventory control or other related fields pertaining to the supply chain. Experience with SAP will be given special consideration.
Previous experience in a food-processing, manufacturing, material handling or warehouse environment is an asset.
Previous experience with procurement is an asset.
Knowledge of continuous improvement programs such as (CPS/TPM, Lean Manufacturing) an asset.
Leadership qualities, and ability to engage, motivate others while providing direction as it relates to supply chain processes.
Ability to create, document, and provide training as required.
Strong computer skills are required: Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems. (BPCS / Putty / SAP)
Familiarity of supply chain processes (inventory, planning, warehousing, scheduling)
Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze, compile data to drive improvements in the supply chain process.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Must be available to work other shifts as assigned to ensure company objectives are met.
Must be able to work / support plant during Fresh Pack season. (7 days/wk for 6 wks)
