Concordia University Looking for Manager, Career Counselling and Educational Trasition Services at Montréal, QC Full Time

• Manage the operations and service delivery of the Career Counselling and Educational Transition Services unit.
• Hire, train, schedule, assign work, monitor, evaluate, and motivate unit personnel, including counselling interns.
• Liaise with Faculties, Student Services, the other unit managers of the Student Success Centre and other internal and external contacts for outreach, program design and program partnerships.
• Lead program design and development for the unit in alignment with University priorities and strategic goals for the sector.
• Research, evaluate and supervise career outreach educational programs, services and workshops, to incorporate the latest information and innovate within the unit.
• Analyse and evaluate the efficacy of the unit’s programs on an ongoing basis; produce related internal research reports and deliver presentations on the analysis and evaluations of the programs.
• Perform other duties in support of the operation of the unit.

REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology or related field and four to seven years of related work experience, including a minimum of one year of university counselling experience and one year of supervisory experience.
• Licensed Member of the L’Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d’orientation du Québec (OCCOQ).
• Demonstrated ability to foster a positive team environment and lead a team.
• Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written English and French in order to communicate effectively and to draft correspondence, documentation, and reports.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal sensitively with students and staff.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Academic and Career Counselling trends and programming, including but not limited to career counselling and first-year support counselling.
• Strong planning, organizing, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a team environment.
• Aptitude to work in a service-oriented environment as both a member of a team and independently.
• Approachability (is sensitive and patient with others) and composure (is a settling influence in a difficult situation) are desirable qualities.
• Previous experience working in an academic setting and prior experience working in an advisory capacity are assets.
• Knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
• Good knowledge (Intermediate level) of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
