As the Primary HR rep you’ll need to be able to multitask and manage various areas in your department. You will help set the vision for the HR department, so we continue to build the happy environment that we have going.
Our HR Director is responsible for leading and developing the Human Resources function to align with the company’s goals and objectives. This includes the development and implementation of the HR strategic plan, leadership development, performance management programs, compensation and benefits programs, equity, diversity and inclusion programs, corporate skills training, employee and labour relations, event planning, occupational health & safety and internal communications.
You’ll have your hands full as you’ll be the backbone support for the company, ensuring company regulations are up to date and being followed while supporting employees and the management team.
Key responsibilities:

· Leading the implementation of HR projects with a continuous improvement mindset.
· Implementing necessary actions for compliance with changing employment and labour laws.
o How has and will the future of Pandemics affect HR?
o What new clauses are being added to employment contracts that we should be aware of?
o Will Non-Compete clauses continue to be lawful?
o What are the different employment standards we should be aware of in different provinces?
· Planning, designing, and rolling out compensation and benefits strategies.
· Developing and implementing organizational HR policies, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance while promoting equity, diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement.
· Providing advice on resolving employee and labour relations issues while maintaining positive working relationships.
· Acting as the first point of contact on union-related matters, including the collective bargaining process.
· Ensuring leadership development activities support performance management, career, and succession planning process.
· Developing and implementing internal communication strategies and programs focused on employee engagement.
· Developing and managing organizational training initiatives.
· Submit hiring approvals via internal systems, create offer letters, conduct reference and background checks and prepare for onboarding.
· Don’t you just love getting paid? Well, you’ll be the one processing bi-monthly payroll using the cloud-based payroll system.
· Manage benefits administration and RRSP program enrollment.
· Department planning; setting the budget for HR functions and coordinating with Senior Management on ongoing spending requirements.
· Manage Off-boarding: Prepare termination paperwork, assist management with termination meetings and conduct exit interviews.
· Manage, assist and/or lead disciplinary paperwork, meetings and performance improvement plans.
· Record keeping; retaining historical and current HR records both virtually and in hardcopy.
· Participate in the health and safety committee; ensure the company is adhering to WorkSafeBC rules and regulations.
· As the leader of the social committee, you’ll engage with a group of enthusiastic individuals to generate ideas and execute company staff events.

· Diploma or bachelor’s in Human Resources, business management or related discipline.
