Position Summary

Your primarily responsible for the daily management, supervision, coordination and successful completion of the preconstruction phase of the projects to meet the cost objectives with respect to contracting, scheduling, estimating, purchasing and bidding of all major projects, including managing large, complex projects such community rec centers & car dealerships. arch, light manufacturing/pharmaceutical. Project services include design/build, negotiated GMP and CM at Risk projects. He/she will coordinate with the Operations Manager or Project Manager on team assignments and assist the Operations team during pre-construction and coordinate all contractibility, value engineering, estimating, cost control, and procurement activities.

Responsibilities included but are not limited to:

• You will report to the board of directors on project pursuits for the firm.
• Work with direct reports to goal set their respective roles.
• You will be the final decision maker on project pricing, risk and fee allocation.
• Responsible for final decision maker on contract terms.
• Giving final approval for RFQ / RFP elements.
• You are solely responsible for being in charge during pre-construction for all projects.
• The VP of Pre-Construction will attend client meetings in support of pursuits and to assist with project issues.
• You will attend industry events to support the growth of the firm.

The successful candidate will have:

• In depth knowledge of Construction/Building Industry
• Excellent Understanding of estimating principles
• You have excellent communication and presentation skills
• Technical Writing
• The ability to build solid long-lasting relationships
• Experience in successful verbal communication in a group setting. Specifically, ability to speak in front of a group to successfully communicate the topic at hand.
• The ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced, deadline driven environment and motivate others.
• You have strong time management skills, particularly the ability to prioritize a multitude of tasks
• Able to problem solve with a strong technical mindset
• You have people management skills and have been in a leadership environment.

What you bring to the table:

• 10 years’ experience in design-build construction project development, or project execution at the senior project manager level.

Preferred Education & Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelors of Science in design or construction related discipline
• Thorough knowledge of Butler or VP Product and application
• Education & expertise in one or more construction disciplines
