Confidential Looking for Senior Accountant at Montréal, QC Full Time

A private company is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with solid communication, technology, organizational, and analytical skills. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances.

Responsibilities:

• Verify, post, and reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
• Produce, and verify Payroll
• Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers
• Participate in financial standards setting, and in forecast process
• Prepare financial statements, and produce budget according to schedul
• Analyze financial information and summarizing financial status
• Assist with tax audits, and tax returns
• Support month-end, and year-end close process
• Participate in preparing financial statements
• Assess internal control
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement
• Maintain, and reconcile fixed assets schedules, prepaid and accrual accounts

Requirements and skills:

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookup and pivot tables
• Accuracy and diligence
• Bilingual French and English

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent

Experience:

• 3 to 5 years experience
