As an integral part of the Support Services Team, the Director of Information Technology is responsible for leading the technology standards and architecture for all technology systems across the company. The Director of Information Technology is not only a strategic role that will define the technology vision, strategy, budget, and team but also hands-on that will help build and lead the IT operations of the company. Key responsibilities include infrastructure, cybersecurity, business applications, operational technologies (OT), and day-to-day support. In this position, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction, exceptional service, and support to the organization, while building scalable technology platform for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Involved in business strategy, and responsible for defining and driving the technical and product strategy for the company.
• Knowledgeable about High Performance Computing infrastructure, setup, maintenance and expansion
• Collaborates with other departments to drive revenue within company by ensuring solutions are responsive to needs and able to be deployed efficiently.
• Contribute to and deliver on a multi-year technology roadmap that goes far beyond today’s technology portfolio that is responsive to industry needs and surpasses competitors.
• Work with the senior leadership team to develop the technology roadmap for the company and integrate effective technology usage into the development process.
• Implement best in class processes to drive successful execution of product initiatives. Adjust processes as necessary based on factors such as product complexity and market/competitive pressure.
• Lead on-going development of the product vision and strategy. Synthesize ideas on strategy, planning and execution of next generation of product.
• Maintain product and market knowledge and analyze market trends.
• Grow the technology development team without compromising the bar for competency and culture fit.

• Provide thought leadership and technical strategy for all of engineering – from architecture to application design.

• Oversee the technical architecture from planning to tactical execution, serving as chief steward and champion in the management of technology framework, technical assets, engineering processes and software development lifecycle.

• Balance long-term investments in enabling technology and vision with short-term product requirements; including when to build vs buy vs partner or change from one technology to another.

• Have a strong interest in up to date and cutting-edge technology.
• Manage an in-house team of two with support from various contractors

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Strong organizational, leadership and project management skills.
• Strong financial reporting, modelling and analytical capabilities.

• Skilled in Windows and Macintosh workstation.

• Ability to support end-users at site and remotely.

• Technical skills in most/all of the following: networking, IT security, OS imaging, and mobile.

• Knowledge of common desktop and mobile computing platform hardware and troubleshooting techniques.
