VP of Accounting
Salary: From $110,000 to $140,000 per year

Based in Richmond BC, this company has been proudly serving Vancouver BC for several decades. This is a privately owned manufacturing company with 90-100 employees serving clients in Canada and the USA.
POSITION SUMMARY

Our company is a forward-thinking organization dedicated to excellence and is seeking a VP of Accounting to join our team. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and serving as a key member of the leadership team, this role offers the chance to lead financial operations, implement best practices, and foster continuous improvement in line with the EOS business operating model.
Key Responsibilities:
· Participate in management meetings and strategic planning sessions.
· Offer financial perspective and data-driven analysis to support strategic growth initiatives.
· Enhance data mining capabilities to inform decision-making in a manufacturing environment.
· Establish job costing process and procedures, comparing results to internal job estimating models.
· Review month-end results and prepare monthly financial package for the executive team.
· Support preparation of month end close including journal entries, GL reconciliations, inventory validation, financial analysis, and financial statement preparation.
· Act as a designated backup for each accounting department role including A/R, A/P, and Payroll.
· Develop an annual budget and timeline involving dept heads for accountability of variance to budget.
· Supervise accounting department operations, redirect priorities, and provide regular updates to ensure optimal performance.
· Mentor and coach accounting team members to enhance skills and foster professional growth.
· Provide direction to the department, implementing financial best practices to address emerging issues.
· Manage daily cash transactions including wire transfers, bill payments, and e-transfers.
· Forecast cash flow, monitor working capital, and schedule/release payments accordingly.
· Review employment contracts and ensure compliance with company policies.
· Provide secondary authorization for payroll releases and coach on irregular payroll items.
· Develop standardized templates and procedures to streamline payroll processes.
· Coordinate year end process with external auditors and maintain a healthy banking relationship.
· Oversee contract renewals for commercial insurance, employee benefits, and office service plans.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting; CPA/CMA designation preferred.
· Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles.
· Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
· Proficiency with financial, payroll and costing software (e.g., SAGE) and advanced Excel skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
