Job Description

Position Overview

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Execution, the Sr. Project Manager, Execution will be responsible to manage the execution of the design and construction of new build utility-scale renewable energy power generation plants. This includes execution, management, design, and construction of the entire project from handover from pre-construction activities through to testing, commissioning, and commercial operation and handover of a complete project to operations while providing construction expertise within Cordelio Power (development, construction, and operations).

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee construction projects from EPC contractor selection to commissioning and commercial operation while monitoring compliance with safety, environmental, and building regulations.
• Coordinate the prime contractors and the construction team to meet design, financial, and contractual conditions of performance.
• Prepare external and internal reports relating to job status, budget status, weekly progress, estimates, and deliverables.
• Negotiate agreement terms, manage construction contract drafts, and obtain permits to analyze and mitigate risks.
• Manage and be responsible for the engineering and construction budget from handover from the pre-construction team through to term conversion financial closing.
• Communicate with the responsible parties to ensure quality construction exceeds company standards and proper industry techniques and processes are utilized, while ensuring the company’s needs and wants are efficiently met.
• Review projects on a daily basis to ensure quality construction standards exist and estimates remain within budget.
• Supervise construction projects to ensure they are completed on time and exceed the company’s requirements.
• Work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment to plan and coordinate all aspects of the building process from hiring contractors to working with engineers, vendors, landowners, and AHJs.

Experience/Education

• Four to ten years progressive responsible engineering, construction, and/or project management experience in the renewable energy industry. Project management experience is preferred.
• Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in construction management or engineering is required. Equivalent experience may be considered.
• PMP certification is not required, but it is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.

Technical Skills

• Skilled in use of typical computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint).
• Presentation skills and ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical persons in lay-person language and concepts.
• Familiarity and experience in the use of PDF review software (Bluebeam, etc.) a plus.
• Skilled in the use of project management software (Procore, Viewpoint, etc.) is preferred.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 45% primarily domestically (U.S. and Canada). Includes travel primarily to remote project locations as well as occasionally to company, vendor, and supplier facilities.

Location

• This role is available in Toronto, Canada with a hybrid work schedule and/or as a remote/WFH/hybrid (depending upon location) for eligible U.S. based candidates authorized to work in the United States.
