What you bring

• A Degree in HR, business, or a related field with 3 years experience
• Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
• A resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures/ policies
• An “outside the box” proactive thought process
• A “Management by Walking Around” vision
• An “attention to detail” work ethic and positive “can do” attitude
• Knowledge of H&S policies, WSIB procedures, MS office, HRIS Systems

Position Responsibilities

· H&S – Engagement in communication, inspections, compliance with MOL, WSIB

· Compensation Planning

· Handling H&S violations, engagement in policy enforcement and changes

· Employee Relations

· Updates and manages ongoing Covid changes and restrictions

· Meeting Ministry of Labour requirements and liaison with MOL

· Benefits Administration, support, time and attendance management

· Time and attendance tracking

· Vacation tracking & scheduling – working with supervisors to schedule their team’s vacations and plan appropriate back up

· Workforce planning and trouble shooting in different areas with plant supervisors

· New employee onboarding – document preparation, sign offs, overview of policies.

· Termination and Offboarding Requirements

· Participate in Performance Appraisals, Probationary Periods, Salary Reviews

· Managing and Updating Employee files

· Updating forms / policies

· Driving Employee engagement initiatives

· Review and Update of Policy Handbook
