CoSA VFX is an award-winning, fast-paced, and highly collaborative Visual Effects studio with locations in Los Angeles, Vancouver, Ontario and Atlanta. We are seeking Senior Level CG Generalists with expertise in Maya who are passionate about Lighting and Look Development.
This role reports to the Global Head of CG.
While this is a remote role, artist in British Columbia and Ontario will be given preference.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create photo-real CG imagery using a varied skill set, dependent on project needs.
- Solve creative problems using simple, efficient techniques, communicate ideas and techniques with teammates, and iterate rapidly based on client notes.
- Work collaboratively as a part of a team on various projects.
- Engage effectively on multiple projects at the same time.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 + years of experience in visual effects for broadcast television and/or feature films.
- Proficiency in lighting and understanding lighting concepts to achieve a desired look and output.
- Proficiency in utilizing renders and render elements for working with the Cosa VFX compositing team.
- Experience with basic texturing (Mari/Substance) along with basic knowledge and understanding of animation.
- Expert understanding of materials and shader development on all varieties of surfaces (Organic/Hard Surfaces..etc.)
- Expert skill working within Maya.
- Experience with GPU and CPU rendering- V-Ray/Arnold and Redshift.
- Knowledge of F-track or other production shot-tracking software.
- Firm grasp of pipeline workflow in a post-production environment.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Tangible evidence of experience working in photoreal VFX for commercials, episodic television, and motion pictures (demo reel).
The wage range for this full-time position is $50,000 – $140,000 per year which is a good faith assessment associated with this position only and will be assessed dependent on the skills and background of each candidate.
