Job Description
We are recruiting for an Analyst or Associate level candidate in the Exposure, Leverage and Liquidity Management (ELLM) group within the Total Fund Management (TFM) department. Working in partnership with other groups in TFM and other departments, the ELLM group is responsible for monitoring, managing, and executing on the Fund’s liquidity and leverage position, delivering, and rebalancing Total Fund exposures through the Balancing Portfolio, and monitoring and managing the total Fund positioning against management and board limits.
The key responsibilities of this role can include, but will not be limited to:
Execution & Portfolio Management
- Fulfilling short locates for our global equity programs through securities lending and synthetic/cash prime brokerage
- Securities lending – synthetic and physical
- Daily portfolio management activities including re-rates, dividend monitoring, recalls, and corporate action elections
- Equity collateral management
- Day-to-day rebalancing and life cycle management of Equity Total Return Swaps
- Trading equity index replication products globally.
Systems & Analytics
- Develop, maintain, and support code base in Python/VBA (adding new functionality, documentation, simplification of database schema)
- Assist in the research process and scenario-testing of new trading tools relating to financing (e.g. liquidity, leverage, asset-liability management, etc.)
- Reconcile P&L with investment operations across various portfolios and products
- Support creation of weekly/monthly reports for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in capital markets or asset management
- An undergraduate/advanced degree
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities simultaneously
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a dynamic fast paced team environment – actively participates in team meetings, cooperates, and shares information to contribute to the effectiveness of the team
- Strong analytical background including data visualization
- Coding proficiency in Python/VBA and experience with SQL is an asset
- Passionate about finance
- Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
