You will work as a Senior Business Analyst in the Enterprise Systems under the Technology and Data department, responsible for building, configuring, and evolving end-to-end technology solutions that enable Finance and Accounting business groups. Projects are delivered in close collaboration with project team members and business partners using waterfall or agile methodologies.

Major Accountabilities

• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions. Document and validate results with subject matter experts and drive the creation of strong system specifications that enable the development and/or acquisition of appropriate systems to meet business requirements.
• Build as-is and to-be process design flows, identifying efficiencies and leveraging the capability of digital resources.
• Liaise with Engineers and business subject matter experts to brainstorm and document innovative solutions alternatives. Evaluate alternatives relative to business requirements and provide advice that is rooted in deep subject matter expertise.
• Participate in process design meetings and translate outcomes into process documentation. Conduct process walkthroughs and validation with business subject matter experts. Document the key risks, mitigating controls, performance measures, cost drivers and business continuity plans for processes.
• Understand the data and data flow to assist in preparing the road maps related to migration / transformation programs.

Role Specific Accountabilities

• Provide strong leadership and project management for multiple initiatives.
• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions. Document and validate results with subject matter experts and drive the creation of strong system specifications that enable the development and/or acquisition of appropriate systems to meet business requirements.
• Liaise with Engineers and business subject matter experts to brainstorm and document innovative solutions alternatives. Evaluate alternatives relative to business requirements and provide advice that is rooted in deep subject matter expertise.
• Participate in process design by researching industry “best practices”, attending process design meetings and translating outcomes into process documentation. Conduct process walkthroughs and validation with business subject matter experts. Document the key risks, mitigating controls, performance measures, cost drivers and business continuity plans for processes.
• Work with technical and business individuals who may be internal CPP Investments staff or external vendors to resolve production issues.
• Apply analytical and technical skills to investigate day-to-day system and business issues, determine the root cause and deliver viable solutions.
• Possess strong analytical skills with ability to conduct complex data analysis.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years’ experience in a related role, preferably within the investment industry.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with Technology and Data colleagues, business partners and external vendors using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close.
• Experience in leading complex group meetings during requirements elicitation and design sessions.
• Proven ability in capturing business and data integration requirements and preparing the technical specifications for the Engineering team.
• Proven ability to manage projects end to end and coordinate with different teams.
• Experience with process development and solid understanding of project life cycle and the capability to apply best practices knowledge to unique and dynamic situations.
• Experience in capturing, analyzing, and illustrating process flows to identify efficiencies.
• Proven ability to deliver presentations to business partners using the appropriate approach.
• Demonstrated analytical and negotiation skills, and close attention to detail.
• Experience with Oracle suite (Oracle EPM, Oracle Financials) would be an asset.
• Experience with Agile Scrum/Kanban processes, and work management tools: JIRA, Confluence
• Advance knowledge of MS Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Proficient in SQL and knowledge of relational database concept.
• Understanding and knowledge of the Finance processes, including forecasting, budgeting, and planning (nice to have).
• System integration methodologies (ETL, JAMS) (nice to have).
• Excellent communication skills.
