Thanks to years of development and experience operating the world’s largest fleet of digitally connected energy storage systems, they have pioneered innovative energy optimization strategies balancing cost reduction, grid resilience, GHG reductions, and other sustainability objectives. Today, municipalities, utilities and Fortune 500 companies alike all rely on our client to deliver these strategies using battery storage assets deployed for a decade or more.

The Role

Reporting to the Manager of the Supply Chain team, the Supply Chain Analyst collaborates with colleagues and vendors to ensure efficient supply chain operations globally, with a North American focus. Using project data tracked in a system of record, as well as their own capacity for data analysis, the Supply Chain Analyst anticipates and addresses our client’s needs for procurement of battery storage and other equipment, including purchase orders, shipping, inventory forecasts, vendor management, data entry, and reporting.

Above all, this role requires prior B2B supply chain experience along with outstanding communication and organizational skills. Prior experience with battery storage or renewable energy procurement is a powerful asset, but not strictly required; candidates without it should explain how their experience is sufficient to bridge the gap in their cover letter.

Responsibilities

• Determine procurement priorities & risks by accessing project details in Salesforce, and receiving input from project managers and department leaders
• Submit purchase orders and procure appropriate hardware while managing costs
• Stay up to date on shifting project timelines & changes so that deadlines are continually met
• Manage assigned vendor relationships
• Support Project, Sales and Ops colleagues by responding to their questions, advising them of changes or potential risks, and making procurement recommendations
• Analyzing project and inventory data to build forecasts, consolidate information and identify risks
• Input data into system of record to keep project, inventory & procurement details up to date
• Produce reports, communicate with management and deliver presentations as required
• Support ad hoc initiatives

What we’re looking for

• A few years of supply chain experience in a B2B environment, particularly in roles that included long-term forecasting, and freight of industrial or electrical products in North America
• Outstanding communication skills, verbally and in writing, flexible enough for technicians and executives alike
• Organizational and leadership skills of a project manager who can inform, influence and coordinate stakeholders through long-term initiatives with important deadlines
• A balance between autonomy and teamwork; you complete work without being micro-managed, but you easily work within a team, communicate transparently and are receptive to feedback
• Analytical skills to export, consolidate, organize and interpret data used for business decisions
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including advanced Excel skills
• Software experience with two key tools: Salesforce and Netsuite; procurement software experience like Ariba or Coupa is also valuable
• Renewable energy familiarity is an asset, even more so if the experience is with battery storage
• Access to an adequate workstation

Job Location

From all across Canada, the Custard team supports our clients in every North American time zone, and we sometimes organize business trips to visit them. However, this role should be exclusively considered a work-from-home opportunity.
