Principal Software Engineer – Backend, AWS AI Platform (Remote)
Headquartered in Ontario, Canada, we are a global provider of smart water infrastructure and simulation software for governments, consultants, municipalities, and utility providers – a $1B+ annual market opportunity in the US alone! We are building our entire platform on AWS using the latest components available such as SageMaker, Lambda, S3, RDS, EventBridge, Fargate, and more!
What You Will Be Doing
We are looking for a Senior/Principal level Software Engineer to participate in building out an AI SaaS platform that handles massive data scale & ground-breaking ML solutions.
- Design and implement containerized and serverless microservices on AWS leveraging Lambda & Docker
- Work with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers on getting scalable AI prototypes into production
- Integrate with AWS IoT, Kinesis, and Snowflake to create comprehensive solutions
- Build high volume/high-frequency data loading and transformation processes
- Provide technical guidance & function as technical lead for various initiatives
- Work with stakeholders in defining best solutions
What You Need for this Position
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related
- 10+ years of experience architecting/building backend data services, APIs, or microservices
- Experience working in a large-scale production environment
- Experience building high scale Event-Driven Architecture
- AWS services including Aurora, RDS, S3, Fargate, Lambda and EKS/ECS
- Kubernetes
- High proficiency in Java, JavaScript or TypeScript
