This is a hybrid position with a flexible work schedule.
About the Role:
Aquatic Informatics is looking for an experienced Technical Writer to work with our development teams to d esign, develop, format, implement and manage technical writing and content creation for technical audiences. They will meet the demands for the production of labeling documents, manuals, testing procedures and operational specifications, including the creation and maintenance of documentation and illustration for hardware and software user’s guides, service and programming manuals and electronic media including on-line help.
What Will I Be Doing?
Produce high-quality, clear, accurate, and complete documentation, within established deadlines.
Take input from various sources to plan and organize content that meets our users’ needs.
Learn and test product functionality while writing documentation.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and completeness of content.
Revise and update documentation as needed to reflect changes in product features or functionality.
Work within the boundaries and demands of the Agile-Scrum software development methodology.
Apply established standards and best practices to ensure uniformity and quality
What Are the Qualifications?
An applicable university degree is preferred. A post-degree certificate in Technical Communications is an asset.
Top-tier communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills with at least 3 years of experience creating customer-facing technical documentation for organizations that develop software.
Experience producing documentation including installation guides, configuration guides, user guides, online help, release notes, and application programming interface (API) references.
Worked with scrum teams in an agile environment and appreciate the agile process.
Exceptional English and communication skills; able to transform complex information into concise, easy-to-understand content .
Proficiency with content/help authoring tools; MadCap Flare experience is preferred.
Competency with HTML/CSS, Acrobat, GIT/GitHub, and development management tools such as JIRA.
Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize, balance varying demands, and meet deadlines.
