Job Summary

Leads the design, implementation and administration of all Compensation and Benefit programs. Key responsibilities include managing job evaluation systems, pay equity program, salary structure and incentive programs, managing benefits and retirement programs, analyzing market trend to assess the organization’s competitive position and enable decision making related to policies and programs design. This job will follow our hybrid work policy and person can be physically situated in Alberta, Ontario or Quebec.

Accountabilities

• Manage the design, implementation, and administration of compensation, group benefits and pension programs
• Manage job evaluation system and maintain pay equity programs
• Collaborate with consultants through annual plan negotiations and renewals. Recommend plan changes to attract and retain employees
• Manage the annual/bi-annual compensation cycle, including analysis, cost projections, benefits open enrollment process, pension estimate, prepare Form 7 and monitor pension contributions and related communications
• Conduct ad-hoc market research, participate in surveys and analyse results to ensure competitive pay levels and provides recommendation
• Collaborate with consultants through annual plan negotiations and renewals. Recommend plan changes to attract and retain employees
• Evaluate and implement approaches to streamline benefits administration
• Work with consultants through plan analysis and develop annual Education Strategy, coordinate events/campaign to achieve plan objectives
• Conduct audit to ensure administration accuracy
• Manage and maintain HCM Compensation and Benefits Modules: setup benefits plans, enable premium calculation, update and validate new rate
• Other duties and projects, as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits, Pension and Payroll)
• Post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Finance or related field or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced knowledge of MS Excel
• Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, along with strong analytical skills
• Ability to simplify complex issue, reframe across multiple perspectives
• Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication at all levels of the organization
• Proven expertise in compensation methodology and framework design, and total rewards program management with a focus on fairness and equity
• Experience with group benefits administration (Canada and US)
• CHRP, CCP, and/or CEBS designation an asset
