One of our manufacturing clients in Oakville, ON region is looking for a Machine Operator for their facility.
Shift – 12 hour rotation
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor plastic processing machinery such as injection molding machines, extruders, blow molding machines, or thermoforming machines according to set parameters.
- Set up machines prior to production runs, including adjusting machine settings, installing molds or dies, and configuring parameters to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor product quality during production runs, conduct regular checks, and make necessary adjustments to maintain product specifications. Identify and address any defects or issues promptly.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts to ensure smooth operation. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while operating machinery and working in the production area. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Work closely with other team members to maximize production output and minimize downtime. Follow production schedules and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Maintain accurate production records, including machine settings, production quantities, and any quality issues encountered during the shift.
Qualifications And Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required; technical or vocational training in machine operation or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a machine operator in the plastic industry or similar manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with plastic processing techniques and machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and production specifications.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
