Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Accounting Manager to join our busy (and totally great) Finance team to help keep us on the path to achieve our goals. Dealer-FX is growing (fast!) and we need help delivering outstanding Accounting & Finance services to the organization through your exceptional accounting and analytical skills.
Working closely with our existing team and reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will be a key part of the team and bring their knowledge and experience in all aspects of Accounting and Financial services – This includes the management of accounting operations, financial reporting, daily cash operations, accounts payable, payments and remittances, and other projects. The Finance & Accounting Manager reports directly to the Controller, Finance to ensure that the company operates in a financially responsible way to facilitate sound business decision making and timely reporting.
A Day in the Life
Manage and Oversee day-to-day functions including payables, receivables, invoicing, payroll and cash management
Manage period-end close procedures, including month-end consolidation and reporting, journal entry and reconciliation review.
Directly manage and mentor four Finance staff, and provide guidance and training on accounting processes and changes as needed
Prepares monthly financial reports and analysis, including detailed analysis of balance sheet accounts, income statement, and statement of cash flows
Ability to establish best practices and up to date protocols in accounting processes and reporting
Helps design and refine financial processes and financial reports with regard to our new ERP implementation
Present accounting package to Controller for review
Ensure that expense coding aligns with the budget and liaise with staff to ensure accuracy
Research and analyze technical accounting issues and provide well-documented guidance and recommendations to management for process improvements
Interface with internal and external auditors and compile financial information in support of financial, tax, and government audits
Ensure maintenance of effective financial controls for the organization’s accounting and banking systems by researching and reconciling discrepancies; auditing and verifying documents; and following internal control procedures.
Qualifications:
What You’ll Bring:
Minimum of 5+ years experience in an Accounting/Finance related role
University Degree with a Finance/Accounting/Business focus required
CPA, CMA or CGA preferred
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
A self-starter and motivated to work under minimal supervision
Ability to multi-task, work independently, prioritize, and problem solve effectively
Strong time management and organizational skills with ability to work within and meet tight deadlines
Ability to effectively work within a team environment through collaboration and cooperation
Leadership and People management skills and experience
Experience in a SaaS (Software as a Service) business is a bonus
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and Pivot Tables
Strong accounting system software skills (experience with Hyperion Financial Management, NetSuite and QuickBooks)
