We’re looking for a Lead Product Designer for Dealer-FX. This individual will play a critical role in supporting the improvements and governance of our design system, as well as driving design, creativity, and technical innovation for our next-generation automotive productivity solution. They will work closely with the entire product team to move the software forward and heavily collaborate with other designers, developers, and our marketing team. We’re looking for someone who is open-minded and can apply design thinking and human-centered design methodologies within their day-to-day work.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will actively contribute to user research, design specifications, user flows, prototyping, and visual interface design at a system and micro-level. We’re especially looking for someone who can instinctively weave iconography, typography, color, space, and texture together to simplify and improve how automotive dealership personnel experiences the next-generation Dealer-FX platform. This is an exciting role for a Lead Product Designer due to the simple fact that the individual will be a core member of a team that is making significant changes in our workflows (ex: completely new products and workflows). The Lead Product Designer will truly be impacting our customers’ lives!
A Day in the Life:
Work within a close-knit design team on various projects to better the end-to-end experience of our software and mobile apps
Apply the principles of design thinking to the creation, maintenance, and growth of our new design system—ensuring consistency and simplicity within our new brand guidelines
Adapt your skill sets across challenges within the product life cycle—from identifying problems, research, ideation, and execution
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to reach clarity and alignment on small to large ideas to better the user experience using informal and formal design thinking methods
Work within our agile team structure to provide quality assurance on our design outputs
Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful
Design flows and experiences that simplify and distill down complex actions into usable interfaces
Contribute to strategic decisions around the future direction of Dealer-FX products
Give and solicit feedback from the broader product team to continually improve quality
Qualifications:
What You’ll Bring:
3-5+ years of creative experience including team management and design leadership on projects on a variety of platforms
Graphic design/UX degree, diploma, or equivalent work experience
A design portfolio that illustrates a range of strategic thinking, visual design, and strong UX
Technical proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma
Knowledge and/or hands-on experience working in rapid product development and an agile environment
Strong understanding of core design principles related to typography, grid systems, design specifications, visual hierarchy, color systems, white space, etc.
A conceptual thinker who can develop and oversee a creative vision from concept to execution on multiple platforms including mobile, web, and B2B enterprise platforms
A keen eye for usability principles and creating great user experiences
Experience working on projects from discovery through to shipping/iteration
The ability to take ownership of ensuring a rewarding experience is being delivered to our users
Clear, compelling presentation and communication style
The knack to ask “why?”—you believe in purpose-driven decisions that are strategically informed to drive meaningful solutions to user problems and opportunities
Support for continuous and iterative improvement—you are comfortable with feedback cycles that are openly communicative and generous within one-on-one and large team settings
