We are currently looking for a driven, career motivated and customer service oriented individual to join our team of Customer Service Counter professionals at our London, ON branch.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Branch Manager, this role’s focus is to generate new and repeat sales by providing customer service excellence at the counter and presenting a professional and attentive image to customers and suppliers. The role will also provide back-up to the warehouse as required.

• Serves customers by phone or in-person ensuring the customer’s order is entered accurately into the system.
• Answer pricing inquiries and stock checks. Provide technical information and product specifications.
• Coordinate delivery arrangements with the customer and monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.
• Create and maintain product displays that engages customers and helps stimulate sales activity, keeping merchandise and counter areas clean and professional.
• Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
• Communicate promotional sale items as well as discounted slow moving and obsolete inventory.
• Proactive contact with customers to ensure ongoing satisfaction and remain current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes and product developments.
• Perform various branch administration; billing; vendor returns, etc.
• Provide backup assistance to warehouse through the preparation and packing of orders, assisting in the receiving of material, and helping load/unload trucks as required.
• Assists in annual physical inventory counts.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
• Positive attitude and customer service oriented with a sense of urgency,
• Computer literate; Basic MS Outlook, Word and Excel skills;
• Minimum of 2 years related technical/sales experience; ideally in a Plumbing or HVAC industry, ideally within a wholesale distribution environment
• Post-secondary education in Plumbing or HVAC, or equivalent experience preferred
