This is a work from home remote position. There may be a need to work onsite occasionally.
Position Overview:
The Senior Manager, Brand Strategy, supports the DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse and The Shoe Company retail brand businesses in Canada, playing a leadership role in the strategic planning process for both brands. More specifically, this role:
Develops brand marketing strategies, seasonal campaigns, non seasonal business initiatives (e.g. DE&I/philanthropic programs) that align with business objectives, customers insights, & overall brand direction.
Collaborates closely with brand and performance marketing leadership and key cross functional stakeholders including merchandising, planning, channel leads (digital and store operations) to ensure all programs, strategies, & tactics are aligned and prioritized across key channels.
Responsibilities include:
•Leads development of seasonal marketing campaigns & strategies, which are grounded in key business initiatives.
•Identifies strategic priorities for a given season by collaborating with senior leadership across business functions, integrating priorities and translating business strategies into integrated marketing plans, marketing campaigns and messaging
•Defines messaging strategy, cadence, & priorities for a given season, aligning with merchandising priorities, leveraging past performance and macro/customer trends
•Align and prioritize upcoming strategic initiatives, CRM activity, and channel considerations to marketing strategy/cadence
•Collaborates closely with Creative leadership on content strategy and creation to ensure vision of seasonal & brand strategies is seen through into creative execution
•Oversees organic social channels ensuring alignment with brand positioning/voice and monthly marketing plans
•Collaborates with performance marketing to drive brand awareness, traffic, and customer acquisition/retention tapping into market opportunities
•Liaises with Designer Brands Inc. US counterparts to sync up on strategic planning processes, timelines, and overall best practices
Requirements:
•7+ years’ experience preferably in retail
•A degree in marketing & brand management (or similar)
•Proficiency in digital marketing; you are “socially connected” and savvy about trends
•Experience in managing external agency/vendor partners and internal cross-functional team members
•Passion, self-starter, quick learner, self-initiative, and proactivity, “roll-up your sleeves” mindset
•Team leadership and orientation, personable and presentable
•Strong administration, project management, time management, and organizational skills
•Great communication and presentation skills
•High computer proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel
