Job Description
Salary: 50-55K
Position: Workers’ Compensation Coordinator.
WHAT IS THE JOB?
Reporting to the Manager, WCB Disability Management, the WCB Coordinator is part of a high-performance, professional team responsible for providing support and advice for injury management within Dexterra’s operations.
Respond to first responses within 24 hours of incident reporting on Mondays to Fridays, this includes but not limited to ensuring that a safe & suitable offer of modified work is made to the injured worker without incurring lost time, and that relevant documents such as employee statement are requested.
Prepare for & participate in monthly & weekly compensable claim check-ins.
Perform duties within the WCB Management team and provide support to operations within assigned provinces throughout the injury management process.
Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures for workflow and record maintenance.
Determine the relationship between mechanism of injury, diagnosis, and relationship to entitlement by gathering and analyzing relevant information.
Determine whether the injury is occupational / non-occupational and file all employer’s reports from the assigned provinces.
Converse with sites, gather documentation and complete electronic submissions to the applicable Compensation Board.
Respond within 48 hours (about 2 days) upon receiving communications from the applicable workers compensation boards.
Maintain accurate records on sequence of events during life of claim within the internal reporting system.
Review of monthly accident cost statements, enter claims costs as well as all other cost entry requirements
To ensure that there are active follow-ups on claims, no more than 5 days.
Must correctly classify incidents in the assigned provinces for weekly incident reviews.
Communicate detailed information regarding entitlement decisions and other claim management issues to management and/or executives, both verbally and in writing.
To participate in Return-to-Work Planning Meetings.
Ensure that sites are making modified offers in accordance with an injured worker’s shift cycles to prevent time loss.
Assist in Managing and administering all Dexterra Group Inc.’s Worker’s Compensation Provincial accounts.
Complete WCB cost entries from statements when they become available through the board’s portal
Ensure that weekly updates are includes in supplementary notes
Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Qualifications
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
1-2 years’ experience in the in WCB claims management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Solid proficiency in MS Office programs.
Effective communication, facilitation, collaboration, organizational and interpersonal skills;
Able to evaluate alternative solutions and develop sound conclusions, recommendations, and courses of action;
Excellent organizational, project and time management skills, with the ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines;
Exceptional customer service, communication, and presentation skills;

Additional Information
Office environment. During the first year of employment, you will be required to work from the office. Hybrid work from home and work location weekly is possible after the first year of employment.
Manual dexterity required to operate computer and related hardware.
Sitting, standing, and walking.
Regular working schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
