Dixon Hall Neighbourhood Services is multi-service agency located in the heart of east downtown Toronto. For 91 years, we have been touching the lives of thousands of our community’s most vulnerable residents by providing a range of programs and services across every stage of life.
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Recruiter, the Human Resources Assistant is a student position under the Canada Summer jobs program to provide support to the Human Resources Department. This 8-week position provides students to work (as per scheduled) in the office and may also include some remote work from home.
Responsibilities
· Full-cycle recruitment
· Efficiently and effectively fill open positions
· Develop local recruitment plans using traditional sourcing strategies and new, creative recruiting ideas.
· Source and attract candidates by using social media, databases etc.
· Conduct interviews and filtering candidates for open positions.
· Collaborate with department managers on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs
· Update job descriptions and job specifications
· Onboard new employee in order to become fully integrated.
· Promote company’s reputation as “best place to work”
Qualifications:
· Enrolled in full-time studies in Human Resources or Labour Relations program, certificate in Human Resources or equivalent
· Up to 2 years’ experience in an administrative-level role within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
· Familiarity with HRIS systems is an asset
· Strong customer service focus, with excellent communication skills for dealing with a wide range of individuals
· Excellent ability to juggle multiple priorities while adhering to processes and deadlines
· Independent and self-motivated, with the ability to take the initiative in liaising with other departments and/or external resources
· Analytical and problem solving skills
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
· MUST be qualified to work in Canada legally for the Employer.
· Able to provide a “Clear” or satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check as determined by the operational requirements of the program.
· MUST be fully vaccinated (two (2) doses) against COVID-19 with a vaccine that has been approved for use in Canada.
