Job Title: Architectural CAD Technician

Our client is currently looking for a full-time Architectural CAD Technician. They are looking for someone who can grow with their team.

Job Description

• Competent at performing site measurements and documenting as-built information.
• Ability to create space plan(s) as directed by Interior Designer.
• Responsible to produce complete sets of working/construction drawings, including sketches, specifications, and details required for Interior Tenant Improvement projects.
• Able to communicate with multi-faceted project teams including coordinating with design and technical consultants.
• Manage AutoCAD standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Create new AutoCAD templates, blocks, and standards.

Essential Skills and Requirements:

• Diploma in Architectural Technology (or equivalent).
• 3-5 years’ minimum experience in the architecture/interior design and construction industry.
• Ability to produce a complete set of construction drawings with input from Designers and Consultants.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. A working knowledge of Revit would also be an asset.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Experience in interior detailing, kitchen design and millwork design.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate.
• Demonstrated technical and detailing skills with a high level of attention to detail to all your work.
• Ability to assess a project’s specific requirement for drawings & required documentation.
• Punctual, responsible, and self-motivated.
• Organized and ability to multi-task.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Able to work well on their own and in collaboration with designers.
• Knowledge and ability to work within all Microsoft Office programs.
• Strong working knowledge of British Columbia Building Code & Metro Vancouver city/municipal zoning by-laws is an asset.
• Knowledge and interest in commercial design considered an asset.
• Must be legally able to work in Canada.
• Excellent writing skills and English language comprehension.
• Understanding of furniture design and furniture systems would also be beneficial but is not essential.
• Time management skills and ability to deal with stress.
• Upbeat and confident attitude.

Experience: AutoCAD: 3 years min (Required)
