Vancouver, BC $160,000 – $210,000 Our client, a leading force in real estate development based in Vancouver, BC, is currently in search of an experienced Director of Construction to spearhead their dynamic team. In this role, you’ll be at the helm of all construction-related matters, overseeing and supervising activities across a diverse range of projects, from high-rise multi-family residences to low-rise wood-frame structures and office towers, among others.
Your responsibilities will encompass providing leadership and cost insights throughout the land and property acquisitions process, as well as effectively managing contractors engaged by the company. You’ll work closely with Construction Managers, Design & Development teams, and external General Contractors, ensuring seamless project execution across multiple endeavors simultaneously. With your strategic management skills, leadership experience, and collaborative approach, you’ll drive the growth and development of the department and its talented team members, including project managers, construction managers, development coordinators, and customer care managers.
Additionally, you’ll play a pivotal role in process management, creating and implementing internal processes to streamline development and construction operations within the company. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping and enhancing processes related to acquisition, planning, pre-construction management, and design and development. You’ll emphasize the importance of continuous improvement, adapting processes to meet evolving requirements effectively.
As a key member of the corporate leadership team, you’ll participate in strategy formulation processes and contribute to annual target-setting initiatives. Your leadership will extend to team-building efforts, designing incentive schemes aligned with the company’s long-term goals, and evaluating the performance of key middle management members. Furthermore, you’ll champion the company’s corporate culture, fostering values of accountability, commitment, cost control, efficiency, continuous learning, and innovation.
Your functional responsibilities will encompass a wide array of tasks, including leadership, project management, problem resolution, budget oversight, contract negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration.
