– Education: No degree, certificate or diploma

– Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Tasks- Load, unload and transport construction materials
– Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades
– Mix, pour and spread materials
– Assist heavy equipment operators
– Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction
– Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites
– Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs
– Level earth to fine grade specifications
– Pave and rake asphalt
– Assist in demolishing buildings
– Clean and pile salvaged materials
– Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
– Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
– Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
– Direct traffic at or near construction sites
– Read and interpret blueprints
– Perform routine maintenance work
– Instruct apprentices
– Clean and lubricate cranes
– Operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials
– Operate pile driving cranes to drive pilings into earth to provide support for buildings and other structures
– Operate gantry cranes to load and unload ship cargo at port side
– Operate cranes equipped with dredging attachments to dredge waterways and other areas
– Operate locomotive cranes to move objects and materials at railway yards
– Operate bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move and place plant machinery and materials
– Operate offshore oil rig cranes to unload and reload supply vessels
– Operate cranes mounted on boats or barges to lift, move and place equipment and materials
– Operate dragline cranes to expose coal seams and ore deposits at open pit mines
– Perform pre-operational inspection, and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting
– Assemble tower cranes on site
