SERVER ASSISTANT – Seasonal, Non-tipping environment

We are seeking dedicated, member service-oriented professionals to join our Food and Beverage team as an Assistant Server

The Position:
Under the supervision and direction of the Restaurant Manager, the Server Assistant will perform their duties to assist Servers to ensure an excellent dining experience for members and guests in every aspect including high quality service, cleanliness of dining area, food quality, etc. A Server Assistant is expected to be hard working, reliable, well-groomed, and friendly and represent Donalda Club in a professional manner while providing an unforgettable dining experience. This is a position with great opportunities for advancement.
An Overview of Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist and support servers to ensure an excellent dining experience for Members and guests
- Perform all duties to ensure the dining area is clean and safe for members and staff including cleaning tables, polish glassware and cutlery, clearing used plates, service station, fridge, etc.
- Prepare dining areas for members prior to their arrival including setting up buffet when required, restocking condiments, setting up tables, etc.
- Perform various duties for the Casual Dining and/or Banquets including opening umbrellas, placing centerpieces, and making cutlery roll-ups as needed
- Rearrange tables and chairs when requested by management or members
- Self-motivated, Team player, ability to take direction
Job Requirements:
- Must be 18 or over to serve alcoholic beverages, but alcohol service is not essential
- Restaurant experience is an asset – Show us a great attitude and we will work with you so we both succeed!
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
- Professional attitude and able to work in a team environment
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Employment with the Donalda Club will be conditional upon the successful candidate having received a COVID-19 vaccine series approved by Health Canada, at least 14 days prior to their start date. This requirement is subject to exemptions pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff will be provided the necessary PPE including face masks, hand sanitizer and equipment disinfectants. In addition, signage has been posted throughout the Clubhouse and hand sanitizer has been provided at all entry points
