The main function of the reception agent is the tasks directly linked to the stay of the customers, that is to say: making room reservations, welcoming customers on their arrival and during the stay, giving information on the establishment and its services, as well as on the region’s tourist attractions, sell and coordinate the various services of the establishment. The front desk clerk must also handle first level complaints.
Availability and flexibility, rigor and team spirit are essential criteria for a job as a receptionist. It is essential to have a sense of detail and a good interpersonal skills for contact with customers. The front desk clerk should have a keen sense of initiative and be able to remain calm under pressure.
The front desk clerk position requires working mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays (may include nights). The organization of work may vary depending on the occupancy rate of the hotel and the tourist season.
Responsibilities;
Specify the client’s needs and open their file
Offer prices according to customer needs
Confirm, modify or cancel a reservation
Greet customers on their arrival, verify reservation data and offer additional services
Obtain payment guarantees
Assign the rooms, hand over the keys and provide the client with useful information about the establishment
Check the satisfaction of customers who leave
Finalize the note, have the accommodation costs approved, collect the payment and give a copy of the transaction to the client
Collect keys and other items
Offer to make other reservations
Promote the establishment’s services, tourist attractions and various activities in the region and make reservations as needed
Receive and distribute mail or messages intended for customers
Ensure the safety of customers and their property
Respond to customer requests (wake-up call, room change, etc.)
Process customer comments and complaints and ensure the necessary follow-ups with customers and the departments concerned, transmit essential information to the people concerned.
Check daily records, customer accounts, cash statements and supporting documents
Communicate to the various departments of the establishment the needs associated with reservations and customer requests
Produce and verify daily reports
Ensure the availability of equipment and follow-up on the services offered to customers
Coordinate with the various departments (dining room, meeting rooms, room service, etc.)
All other related tasks related to the position.

Requirements
1 year experience in hotel reception. (Obligatory)
Bilingual written and spoken (French and English) (Mandatory). Fluency in other languages is an advantage.
Able to work variable hours (morning, evening, night, weekends and holidays).
Ability to conduct monetary transactions
Knowledge of hotel management software and computer skills. (Obligatory).
