The Opportunity
Reporting to the CFO, we are looking for a driven, self-motivated and entrepreneurial individual who has a desire to be part of a rapidly scaling tech firm. As our Controller you will be significantly impact the companies day to day operations, while being a change agent to improve our internal processes.
On a Typical Day, You Will:
Lead a team of accounting professionals to oversee aspects of the finance and operational accounting team at DOZR
Pull and prepare financial data and financial reports; monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
In partnership with the CFO, prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts and annual budgets
Coordinate all financial and tax compliance activity.
Provide oversight and guidance on tax related matters including North American tax strategies, transfer pricing and various compliance issues.
Maintain strong relationships with external auditors
Develop your team within your team and support stretch OKRs
Support and run Canadian payroll function, partner with US outsource payroll provider
Strong vendor / supplier relationships regarding accounts payable and receivable
Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
Keep up-to-date on current Accounting requirements
Who Are You?
Team Player and Problem Solver
Value an empathic and kind team
Post-secondary education in Finance or Accounting, with a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
Experience in financial roles with senior leadership experience
A comprehensive understanding of financial practices, Canadian and US GAAP/IFRS, financial reporting and applicable regulatory requirements.
Self-motivated and able to maintain strict deadlines for closing processes and project timelines.
A strong, hands-on leader who will encourage growth and engagement within the accounting team.
Organized and structured, with a strong sense of urgency and business engagement
Strong verbal & written communication skills, with ability to drive change and maintain best practices in accounting
