Archbishop Anthony Meagher Catholic Continuing Education Centres – Summer Adult English as a Second Language Program
POSITION:
Stage 1 and Stage 2 Summer ESL Program Instructors (adult non-credit courses)
LOCATION:
Online (Zoom) & Virtual (D2L) Platforms
TERM:
Morning Classes:
July 4, 2022 – July 28, 2022 (Monday to Thursday)
8:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (15 minutes PBLA, 2.5 hours instruction)
Afternoon Classes:
July 4, 2022 – July 28, 2022 (Monday to Thursday)
12:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. (15 minutes PBLA, 2.5 hours instruction)
RATE OF PAY:
$40.21 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
CLB LEVELS:
Morning Classes (8:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.):
CLB 1&2
CLB 3&4
CLB 5&6
CLB 7&8
Afternoon Classes (12:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.):
CLB 1-3 Listening and Speaking
CLB 4-6 Reading and Writing
CLB 6-8 Academic Preparation
Course offerings subject to change dependent on student enrollment and needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- TESL Ontario Certification in good standing
- Member in good standing of TESL Ontario Teachers Association
- CLB & PBLA Training and Experience
- University Degree
- Knowledge of Zoom, D2L, and other software used by students
DESIRED:
- Experience working with adult students teaching English at multiple levels
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with lower level learners
- Strong understanding of technology
