The Recruitment Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that HSE Integrated is adequately staffed to meet the operational demands in each station area. Working in tandem with Operations management, the Recruitment Manager is responsible for forecasting staffing requirements and executing innovative recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates. The position is responsible for the management of Recruitment staff and will require occasional travel primarily between the Fort Saskatchewan and Red Deer office locations.
Reports to: Director, Human Resources
Duties/Responsibilities
Maintain regular communication with station management to identify and forecast upcoming staffing needs
Work with the Marketing Manager to develop and execute recruitment focused advertising and social media content through HSE website and LinkedIn career pages
Proactively develop targeted recruitment strategies to attract high demand skills sets (e.g. High Angle Rescue Technicians, Firefighters, etc.)
Working with Operations and the Industrial Services Manager to plan and execute the mass hiring of candidates and facilitate the onboarding and deployment to the field
Make recommendations to senior operations management team regarding compensation levels and other factors to maintain competiveness within industry
Establish relationships with community partners (e.g. government agencies, aboriginal groups, etc.) and keep apprised of upcoming recruitment related community events
Travel to stations on a regular basis for ongoing networking activities and to maintain a current understanding of business and workforce challenges in each region
Provide direction and guidance to Recruitment staff
Perform other HR related work as required
Supervisors Safety Responsibilities
Do everything reasonable to ensure the health and safety of the workers under their supervision
Ensure all workers under their direction are: adequately trained in the given task, knowledgeable of the equipment and effectively supervised throughout the job
Maintain cyclical and as required safety tasks as directed by the health and safety program and jurisdictional health and safety legislation
Regularly communicate with employees regarding occupational health and safety, observing performance for compliance to the program
Immediately notify and liaise with the Health and safety department regarding OH&S visits, inspection or inquiries and health or safety related incidents.
