A Safety Advisor should have extensive knowledge of the Safety industry and its policies, job procedures as well as applicable government laws.
This project will be 2-3 months duration with possibility to extend. Shifts Monday-Thursday 10 hours. (Possibility to work on future projects)

Duties/Responsibilities
Identify and review various Health and Safety concerns specific to the worksite.
Must be able to communicate effectively with government, management and workers regarding Health & Safety, on and off the job site.
Provide site specific orientations on emergency procedures and location of safety equipment and muster areas with new workers coming on location
Keep an accurate head count of all personnel on location
Assists in incident investigations, analysis and preparation of incident reports and summaries.
Operate company vehicles in accordance to HSE policy, highway traffic laws and per the standards on privately owned roads
Conducts facility/site inspections and safety audits on a regular basis to monitor safe work practices and procedures, prepares inspection reports and ensures that corrective action is taken whenever deficiencies are identified.
Maintain a professional relationship with all personnel in the work area
Ensure that all pertinent paperwork is completed in a timely manner
Report and communicate regularly to Operations Coordinators regarding critical changes that may directly affect dispatch
Stay current on client specific and OH& S regulations.
Other duties will be assigned as necessary
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years field experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
Demonstrate leadership, coaching, mentoring and troubleshooting skills
Experience working in a health and safety capacity (field and/or administrative) would be considered an asset
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Good vision / hearing
Attend work clean shaven each shift
Physically capable of performing the following tasks:
Working at heights and / or climbing ladders or stairs
Working in small / confined spaces
Lifting up to 50lbs
Pushing / pulling (tools / objects)
Sitting / driving
Bending / kneeling / crouching
Standing / walking for long periods of time
Working in adverse weather environments (heat / cold) and conditions (rain / wind / snow)
Potential shift lengths 10 – 12 hours, should be available to work longer if client requirements demand longer shifts or schedule changes
Employee must ensure that they are staying hydrated, alert and fit for duty at all times
Required Certifications & Training
Accreditation as a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) considered an assest
Standard 1st – Aid / CPR considered an assest
Confined Space Entry & Rescue, Scaffold Safety, Fire Extinguisher Level I & II, Fall Protection are considered assests
Valid unrestricted license with full driving privileges in the province of issue for the specified class of vehicle to be operated on behalf of the company or a higher class of license than that of the vehicle to be operated.
