DynaLIFE Looking for Pre and Post DSC – Laboratory Assistant I at Calgary, AB Full Time

Operating 24/7, the Pre and Post Analytics department plays a key role in the delivery of customer focused laboratory services and is vital to the operation of the laboratory. As a team member in this fast-paced environment, you will utilize skills in data entry, specimen processing, communication and customer service.

Major Functions and Responsibilities

• Plan and organize your work responsibilities and processes to perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures which include:
  • Receiving, sorting and validating patient specimens
  • Accurate transcription of patient demographics and tests into the laboratory information system
  • Labelling specimens and requisitions
  • Answering telephone inquiries and transferring calls
  • Scanning, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment.
  • Preparing specimens for transfer/referral
  • Assisting with the training of staff and students as required

Required Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Keyboarding skills and basic computer knowledge
• Must be thorough, accurate and detail oriented

Required Experience

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience
• Current experience working in Specimen Processing/Pre and Post Analytics is an asset.

Minimum Qualifications

• Successful completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program or equivalent
