Eaton’s EPG EAS Electrical Automation Solutions division is currently seeking a Power Systems Engineering Intern.
What you’ll do:
Description of the mandate:
We are looking for an intern to assist the engineers of the research and development group. As a member of a multidisciplinary development team, the intern will participate in the development of projects in the field of analysis and modeling of electricity distribution networks and renewable energies.
Main functions:
Support the engineering team in research and development for the CYME power network simulation software
R&D projects – Analyze customer specifications, write design documents, prepare test plans
Model electrical networks with CYME software
Validate models of electrical equipment and mathematical algorithms for power network analysis
Automate and document multiple quality assurance cases using a Python API
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Have a good knowledge of basic electrical engineering: Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Laws.
Have mathematical knowledge of complex numbers and matrix calculations.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 80km of Brossard, QC, Canada to be considered.
Preferred qualifications:
Have a good knowledge of Python programming.
Have a good knowledge of electrical engineering: symmetrical components and electrical equipment.
Knowledge of network simulation software (e.g. CYME, PowerWorld, EMTP-VR).
Be autonomous, have initiative, rigor and attention to detail.
