Eavor Technologies Looking for Drilling Engineer (Calgary) at Calgary, AB Full Time

Eavor Technologies Inc. is seeking a high performing, entrepreneurial Drilling Engineer. Eavor is seeking a candidate with a technical background and experience in both well planning & design, and in managing efficient execution of drilling operations.
This position is an in-office role, based in Calgary, Alberta

Some of what you will do:

• Perform detailed well planning for proposed development schemes, anti-collision
  analyses and torque, drag and hydraulics checks including iterative optimizations
• Perform technical casing design, including evaluation of critical design loads and
  suitable mitigations
• Develop robust budgetary estimates for proposed designs, taking into account market
  pricing, technology maturation, and learning curves
• Provide technical inputs for procurement of equipment and services, as well as ranking
  and selection for each category
• Prepare technical reports and make presentations, outlining proposed well designs and
  challenges / risks for both partners and management.
• Write up detailed execution programs and have accountability for logistical management
  for upcoming drilling operations
• Provide remote supervision and ensure efficient execution of drilling operations across
  global locations, including onsite visits as required
• Liaise with clients during business development and early discovery meetings, act as a
  drilling subject matter expert for Eavor’s technology and interact with technical
  counterparts at client companies

Some of what you will need:

• Bachelor of Engineering Degree
• Minimum 5 years experience in a drilling engineering capacity (8+ years experience preferred)
• Experience using software modelling packages for well planning & design
  o Landmark, ERA, or similar
  o Directional profiles and anti-collision
  o Torque and drag, and hydraulics simulations
  o Casing design load checks, including casing wear analyses
• Experience with remote / office-based management of drilling operations
  o Familiarity with real-time monitoring of drilling parameters and optimization of drilling operations in real-time
• Deep understanding of drilling concepts including well control, BHA and bit design, drilling fluid properties, hydraulics, hole cleaning, torque and drag, managing loss circulation, identifying and mitigating drilling dysfunctions, stuck pipe prevention and response.
• Experience with whipstocks, sidetracking operations, multilateral wells and magnetic ranging operations is an asset
• Previous experience with onsite supervision of drilling operations is an asset
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects / tasks simultaneously
• Flexible & quick to adapt, and able to work well under pressure
• Self-starter, proactive, ability to work autonomously when assigned a task or goal
• Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication abilities
• Willing to travel
