About the Role
This position will focus on the financial accounting of the company. Duties and responsibilities include:
- Use QuickBook to prepare and record assets, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payables and receivables
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
- Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries
- Summarize financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheets, profit and loss, and other statements
- Produce payroll by initiating computer processing; printing checks, verifying finished product
- Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant accounting experience
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and GAAP
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, mainly QuickBooks
- Previous experience with implementation of an ERP is a definite asset
- Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
- BSc or BComm degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant education and experience
- Secured or in-process relevant certification (e.g. CPA) or equivalent experience
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is a definite asset
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week at the office
