About the role:

As a Senior Application Support Analyst at eHealth Saskatchewan, you will support a number of back-office applications that support financial and human resources services and part of the AIMS legacy remediation team within the Citizen and Partnership Program.

The successful incumbent will be required to develop and maintain support documentation as well as research and analyze issues with existing applications and transactions, and influence implementation plans for upgrades, new releases, and patches. Responsibilities will include participating incident, service request and change management support. Additionally, you will monitor production technology systems to ensure optimal performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Technical documentation and understanding of architecture are essential for this role. The successful candidate will have a passion for patient care and be committed to delivering high-quality solutions.

You will have demonstrated working knowledge of:

• Understanding of ITIL best practices including Application Life Cycle Management, Change Management and Service Delivery Management.
• Requirements analysis and solution design techniques.
• Experience assessing, monitoring, sustaining and/or optimizing the performance of large scale customized, off the shelf and custom-developed applications, interfaces and associated environment.
• Understand and have a range of programing language knowledge such as Java, .Net, ASP, PHP and Html, SQL, Citrix/ XenApp application delivery.
• Ability to conduct requirement analysis and unit testing, with proven experience.
• Able to utilize solution design techniques with a history of successful outcomes.
• Experience working as a system administrator performing basic functions such as:
• User/account management – including role-based security
• Service/Interface management
• File transfer
• Job scheduling
• Experience working with multi-tiered architectures, including engagement of cross-functional teams (ie server, network, DBAs).
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relevant support documentation and contribute to incident and program solving records.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Previous experience within a health sector environment is an asset.

The knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through the completion of a degree in computer science or related area of study, along with 5 years of experience working as an Application Support Analyst, or similar role, within an integrated support environment. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
