Elite Digital Inc. (https://elitedigitalagency.com/) is an award-winning digital marketing agency that is growing rapidly. Elite has over 90 employees and we are expanding once again! As a result, we are looking for a Front-End Developer (contractor) who will produce solutions that demonstrate their expertise on industry practices.
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Web Development and Technology Director, the Front-End Web Developer for Theming delivers high quality production-ready code, performs complex implementation tasks, organization and complex analyses, prepares discussions and accurate status reports on solution deliverables and develops high-quality, modern browser-compatible web pages for multiple device resolutions with specifications that will evolve with internet browsers. They will monitor and develop changes to improve quality with software applications and collaborate to manage priorities, to meet and exceed project timelines, team objectives, and solution objectives. The ideal candidate will produce solutions that meet target user experience goals in all categories – aesthetics, usability, and usefulness, and demonstrate expertise, application and knowledge of industry practices in designing graphical user interfaces.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine development tasks, developing online graphical user interfaces, as requested by the supervisor.
- Performs online troubleshooting and browser-compatibility problem analyses with direction.
- Prepares detailed status reports on own solution deliverables.
- Interprets test results and develops tools for users of web technologies.
- Communicates solutions to team members and may help to build libraries of solutions.
- Interpret test results and accurately predict usage behaviors and work with Creative and Inner teams to interpret user reviews.
- Manage priorities and meet project timelines and solution objectives, with supervision.
- Demonstrate competencies, application and knowledge of industry practices in technologies.
- Adhere to all team software engineering guidelines, practices, EliteDesign policies.
- Perform development tasks, developing graphical user interfaces and online applications, on defined projects to achieve team-level goals with independent results to find the right solutions or use existing approaches to solve defined problems, as requested by the supervisor.
- Performs online troubleshooting and browser-compatibility problem analyses.
- Adhere to branding and application design guidelines, practices, policies and act as a positive example to peers.
- Organize and build high-value foundations in Grid-based Responsive CSS, SaaS-based CSS organization, Material UI Design Systems, and implement technology-based templates for designs and visual solutions.
- Prepares accurate status reports on solution deliverables.
- Interprets test results and develops interactive tools for users of web browser technologies.
- Communicates solutions to team members and builds libraries of solutions.
- Monitors and maintains quality production systems and operations.
- Performs duties for the day-to-day operations.
- Manage priorities, and meet project timelines, team objectives, solution objectives, with supervision.
- Demonstrate professional competencies, application and knowledge of industry practices in all required technologies.
- Adhere to all team software engineering guidelines, practices, EliteDesign policies and act as a positive example to peers.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
- Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field OR equivalent work experience
EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL SKILLS and KEY COMPETENCIES
- Twitter Bootstrap, Mobile-Responsive Themer skilled in HTML, CSS, and SaSS.
- Ideal experience in PHP/WordPress, or JavaScript Technologies / NextJS, ReactJS, NodeJS and TailwindCSS.
- Experience with subversion control systems (with a preference for Git)
- Experience supporting the most popular browsers and comfortable writing clean code that supports some modern web browsers.
- Experience working in an Agile environment where delivery and execution is critical
- Be willing to participate in learning opportunities to expand your knowledge on various topics

COVID-19 Response
At Elite Digital Inc, safety is our top priority and all decisions this year have been made strictly from a health and safety perspective. Since March, 2020, we have been practicing all of the proper steps to “flatten the curve” and keep ourselves and our society safe. Our organization worked very hard to come up with many creative solutions to be able to look after our employees and allow them to maintain full employment during the entire pandemic. Over the past few months, we have found much success and our employees have been able to thrive working in a remote environment. Based on this ability to succeed, Elite will continue to work from home until we feel it’s the right time for our organization and our employees to return.
Plans for the future include:
o Our “new normal” will include a hybrid of working from the office, and remotely.
o We are not mandating any return at this point. There will be a gradual hybrid return to the office that includes the employee’s feedback, ensuring their comfort in the transition.
