Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a part-time Kindergarten Teacher at SouthPointe School (0.528 FTE).
Commencing August 26, 2022
Schedule A Kindergarten Calendar (Mondays, Wednesdays and select Fridays)

SouthPointe School serves approximately 600 students in kindergarten to Grade 9, with 30 teaching staff and 20 support staff. The school is located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB, approximately 20 kilometres north of Sherwood Park, AB.
SouthPointe School, in collaboration with the community, provides a safe, supportive learning environment in which every student will develop the skills and knowledge to become lifelong learners and contributing members of society.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education degree
Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Knowledge and training of the Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessment Kits and its meaningful implementation in the classroom, used to guide instruction
Effective organization and classroom management skills
Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged
Excellent verbal and written skills
Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
