Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a part-time (0.55 FTE) Junior High Math, Physical Education and Outdoor Education Teacher at F.R. Haythorne Junior High. Options are subject to change based on student and school needs. This position also includes a portion of time off-timetable as Athletic Director.

F.R. Haythorne Junior High serves approximately 660 students in grades 7 to 9, with 32 teaching staff and 17 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB.
Character education, citizenship and student leadership are integral to the F.R. Haythorne experience. Staff, administration, and the parent community maintain very high academic and behavioural expectations for students attending the school, and the school has established a consistent emphasis on maximizing student achievement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education degree
Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Valid NVCI certificate
Effective organization and classroom management skills
Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged
Excellent verbal and written skills
Knowledge of behavioral support plans
Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
Experience working in a high performing team
