Currently, we are looking for Certified Scrum Leaders and PMI-PMP Certified Intermediate Project Managers in a Permanent Position. Reporting to the Manager, Tech PMO – Project Delivery. Your primary role will be servicing our clients through the governance of our Technology Project Management Office (PMO) whether through a waterfall or agile practice. The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of project management experience in Waterfall and Agile projects at the execution level.
As we continue our journey toward a digital utility, we deliver solutions in both frameworks (Waterfall and Agile). There is however, a significant push and trend towards agile delivered projects as we introduce, develop and train existing team members with “what it means to be agile” with emphasis around the agile manifesto and the technical aspects of agile execution (e.g. scrums, Kanban, product backlogs, backlog grooming, product owners, sprints, product roadmaps and release plans, sprint retrospectives, ceremonies, etc.).
Accountabilities:
In the role of Intermediate Project Manager / Scrum Leader, you will be responsible for managing cross-functional project teams using NSPI’s Portfolio & Project Management (PPM) framework (based on PMI’s PMBOK or our evolving established Agile framework).
In this role you will also provide team leadership and mentoring. this means you will be expected to guide and coach the agile teams on how to use our Agile practices and principles and to contribute to the improvement of our Agile practices within the organization. You will be expected to guide your teams toward self-organization, encourage cross-functional assignments, manage expectations and timelines, collaborate to resolve problems, and remove impediments to aid the self-organizing teams to deliver value quickly and cost-effectively.
Should you be implementing in the waterfall domain, you will be expected to execute those projects following NSPI’s Portfolio & Project Management (PPM) framework (based on PMI’s PMBOK). You will take the lead and provide leadership to your teams for the five phases of initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and closeout following our technology governance processes. As well scope, schedule, budget, quality, and stakeholder management will be key elements of success that you manage on each project as you guide your teams through successful planning and execution.
You will also be responsible for your own personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will also be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.
