We are currently looking for an IT PMO Project Management Office (PMO) Coordinator to join our Project Management team in a Temporary Position (12 Months). Reporting to the Manager, Tech PMO – Project Delivery, you will join a dynamic group of responsive Project Managers and Scrum Leaders to support delivery of enterprise technology enabled projects. In our move towards a digital utility, we are transforming our project delivery practice through the introduction of an agile delivery framework. The Technology Project Management Office Coordinator will share the overall accountability for the success of Nova Scotia Power’s Technology PMO towards a greener future.
The ideal candidate will have strong initiative, with a strong work ethic and a mindfulness to confidentiality as well as be dedicated to project management excellence. You will interact with staff and vendors, review incoming mail, conduct word processing, maintain digital bulletin boards, and complete filing and invoice verification. You will process invoices, requisitions, and purchase orders. In addition, you will prepare monthly reports, and be responsible for other general administrative and coordination support duties. You will be required to perform at a high level of competency and with independence and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
The coordinator will work with Project/Program Managers, and Scrum Leaders to assure data entered into the enterprise project management systems are of sufficient quality.
Specific accountabilities include:
Skills, Capabilities and Experience:
As the successful candidate, you have a university degree from an accredited post-secondary institute and/or a recognized project management certification or equivalent experience. You have a solid understanding of, and experience with project planning (scoping, estimation, financial forecasting), financial tracking and document/records management.
You are comfortable with working on multiple projects and managing priorities. You have effective communication and strong organizational skills. You are a self-starter who has the willingness and ability to learn new processes and to also present ways for us to continuously improve processes. You have strong analytical and quantitative skills and are attentive to detail. You are a team player with strong interpersonal skills and a sound knowledge of current office procedures and possess proficient typing and computer utilization skills. You have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Experience with enterprise portfolio and project management solutions is highly desirable. Experience with Power BI, Tableau, MS Project, SpiraPlan, Oracle, and other business warehousing tools would be an asset.
